It means some of them are lovable and have strong personalities, while we hate some too. Do you know why you hate villains? It is because you know that your favorite hero or main character is in danger because of them. If you start developing hatred towards the villain, it means that he is doing exceptionally well as a character. You must be wondering, “WHY.” It is because antagonists are made to be hated. If a villain acts in a way that the audience starts being harsh towards him, he succeeds in doing his job. 15) Lee Han-Sol (Player 324)
Lee Han-Sol first character to die in Squid Game 324, had a relaxed vibe. He was caught off guard when he was eliminated, but he gave us an excellent picture before he went.
324 had the most incredible look of all the characters, and he didn’t have any weird quirks or personality traits that made you dislike him. 324 is the only likable character—even if he’s dead now!
In my opinion, it’s a shame we never got to see more of him outside of his death scene. He would’ve been a fan favorite if they had done so!
14) The VIPs (Games Spectators):
Talking about the VIPs, they are a cringe, without a doubt. But, if we think differently, these people are creative, and their interest in a very different game that we have neither heard of nor watched before proves it!
13) Edward Hong (Player 244):
Edward Hong was player 244, a pastor in heavy debt who entered the game to get rid of it. He managed to survive till the fifth game, in which the contestant had to jump over the glasses as a stepping stone, and the squid game character lost this challenge. But, if we look into his passion for playing to achieve his goals, he is a good character. Therefore, I am ranking him as number 13.
12) Byeong-Gi ( Player 111):
In the earlier episodes of the squid game, the viewers thought that Byeong-gi was just an ordinary player merged into the crowd without any special skill or purpose. Furthermore, our curiosity increased about his personality when we learned that he was already getting clues about the games. Besides this, he was helping the organ harvesters as Byeong-gi was a doctor in the outside world.
We can clearly say that he was a wise player who took advantage of the special treatment and paired up with the strong contestants to win every game. Beyond is definitely among the top 15 squid game characters.

11) Jang Deok-Su (Player 101):
The viewers found the character of this bad boy very chilling. Just think for a moment that you are forced to participate in this sort of game, and you are also a bad boy, but will you still be able to show your worst side under so much pressure? I know that most of you will agree with my statement that if one is stuck in this sort of situation, it is very difficult to survive making evil plans or thinking in the way he thought.
Jang Deok-su did justice to this character and brought life to it with his remarkable performance. Remember your school time when a group of guys used to bully you and your friends? Jang and his group of bullies remind me of the one in school. Deok-sun is ready to do anything for the sake of his life to win this game and get the biggest prize.
This cheater was the first to add the doctor to his team so that he may know what game to expect next. In this way, the chances of winning his team were increased.
I am not supporting everything he was doing to win, but my purpose in ranking him in one of the top 15 squid game characters is to appreciate his smart thinning. You all hated him, right? So, as I said earlier that he got successful in portraying the character for which he signed.
10) Oh ll-Nam (Player 001):
Now, I will talk about that character whom I used to adore personally. Initially, I felt pity for him, especially in the game when nobody was ready to pair up with him thinking that number 1 was a weak contender. However, by the end of the season, when I learned that he was the real culprit starting all this mess, I got a bit angry at him, and all of my pity for him died.
At the show’s start, he was the most lovable, kind, and sweet character, but unfortunately, when it was revealed that Oh was the mastermind behind all of this, people started hating him.
This older man learned that he was suffering from a dangerous, life-threatening, and uncurable illness, then he decided to enjoy the last moment of his life. Enjoyment has a different definition for every person, but I do not think that any of you would like to enjoy your last moments the way Oh-II Nam did.
When this squid game character died, the viewers felt immense pain as all of us had a soft corner for II-Nam, but then reflexively, we started to hate him after knowing the truth.

9) Hwang In-Ho:
The Front Man is the most mysterious character in this show, and people are dying of curiosity to know more about his existence. The secrets related to his personality are not yet discovered, but viewers expect this to happen real soon. Initially, he was another faceless character in the show whose job was to ensure that every game was performed perfectly; however, later, we got to see his face. Hwang In-ho killed his brother, who was searching for some secret but did not like this behavior and decided to end his sibling’s life. He is truly a despicable person.
8) The Salesman:
Even though we saw the salesman only twice in the series, his personality still has great importance. He is one of the top 15 squid game characters who look smart and wise. The viewers are introduced to the whole plot of the squid game when he meets G-hun at the station.
He tested gi-hun to analyze how far he could go to get the money, as the game Gi was about to enter was based on the spirit. Overall, the salesman possessed a strong character.
7) Han Mi-Nyeo (Player 212):
There are many reasons to appreciate Han Mi-Nyeo as she proved to be a strong contender. Earlier, people thought Han was the weakest link because of her physical appearance, but by the end of the game, everyone was shocked that she survived till almost the last.
Players were unable to compete often as this wise girl was ready to fight and survive at any cost and by doing anything. She possesses an incredibly cunning and conniving character who once told Deok-Su, that she would kill him if he betrayed me, but he didn’t take it seriously. The audience was amazed that she did what she said by killing the bad guy in the glass game to take revenge.
6) Cho Sang-Woo (Player 218):
The squid game fans are split into two parts; some of them are happy with the season’s ending by seeing Gi-hun win, while others debate that Cho Sang-Woo was the one who deserves this win.
The game winners and Cho were childhood best friends; among them, Sang-woo is the smartest. People thought both of them would win the game with their strong teamwork, but the result turned out to be different, and all of the fans were not okay with it.
He also proved sincere and loyal as we can see him realize that all the stuff that has happened was wrong and sacrifice his life for his best friend, thinking that Gi-hun is more deserving than him.
5) Ji-Yeong (Player 240):
Despite so little screen time, Ji-Yeong made it to the top 15 squid game characters list. She possessed a kind personality, due to which this poor girl didn’t have the guts to win this deadly game, as her motive was to make friends rather than kill them to make way for herself.
The viewers felt so sorry for her on knowing the complete backstory of how her father stabbed Ji’s mother to death, and to take revenge, she killed her father. Furthermore, she explains to Sae-Byeok that she has no reason to live as living in prison is her future, and then finally sacrifices her life for Jung Ho-Yeon.
4) Seong Gi-Hun (Player 456):
One of the squid game’s main characters, Seong Gi-hun I, was an imperfect personality. He is neither a good father nor a good son. His gambling habit created so many difficulties for him, and maybe this was why he was stuck in this deadly game.
The winner of the challenge and antagonist of the series is very curious to know the secrets behind the existence of this baseless game. Many points need to be uncovered in the upcoming seasons. Are you also waiting for them badly? Me too.
3) Hwang Jun-Ho:
This is the poor guy his brother killed as he was on a mission to unravel the mystery of the squid game. His main purpose was to discover the secret behind his brother’s death. Once he got to know that people were being taken to an unknown location where they were not safe, at that point, he decided to invade the organization and got successful too. People were disappointed by his death as they expected his assistance to unveil the dark secrets.
2) Ali Abdul (Player 199):
Undoubtedly, Ali Abdul is one of the most lovable people in the series hence ranked in the second position of the top 15 squid game characters. His character is portrayed as a kind, responsible, and caring person who wants to do something for his family by working hard and wanting to achieve his goal, whether by hook or crook.
He had financial issues not because he was a bad guy. Instead, Ali was so good that everyone always took advantage. This habit of his was so bad that, in the end, it became the reason for Abdul’s death.
1) Kang Sae-Byeok (Player 067):
Finally, moving towards the no.01 squid game character for whom you were curious. She is none other than Kang Sae-Byeok, who deserved a better ending. Like some of the other characters, she also had a tragic backstory for which she needed money.
